MONDAY
01. Sonny has a wonderful habit of doing the right things for the wrong reasons. He blames himself for Michael, so there’s a part of him that does want to be a target because that little part of him says he can atone for Michael if he gets himself shot, or gets killed trying to find Michael’s shooter. But there’s another part of him that knows the PCPD couldn’t find a hooker in a whore house, and that’s why he says it’s up to him to get justice for his son. Just stop and think for a minute. Diego either killed or tried to kill how many people? And did the police HAVE A CLUE? Absolutely not. In fact, I’m trying to think of the last time there was a crime committed that the PCPD actually SOLVED ON THEIR OWN. You would have thought it there was any intelligence left in Mac, he would have accessed it when his one daughter was attacked, and the other was killed. And Max STILL couldn’t put it together. So counting on the PCPD to find anyone, solve anything, is a waste of time. Wouldn’t it be interesting if the police were really competent? 02. Jason is questioning Nikolas about the $10 million. Nik sure doesn’t put up much of a fight before telling Jason the money is so he can “see” Emily. If I were going to answer that question, I’d first demand to know why Jason wants and needs this information, because where I spend my money is none of his damn business. Of course that won’t work for long, since all Jason has to do is make a phone call, and Devlin and Nikolas would be hard pressed to come up with a story that made the transfer of money legit. But right now, Jason wants the information, and I’d make him pay for it by finding out why he wants to know, and how he found out about the money in the first place. You could see that Nik’s explanation was the LAST thing Jason expected to hear. 03. While we all knew that Ian was the plastic surgeon who took care of Jerry, I think this is the first time we were actually told so. 04. Jerry’s killing game with Ian was hilarious. But Jerry, you’re being a total idiot, and that’s not like you. You’ve been listening too much to this drivel from Ian about how killing him would cause more problems than it would solve. I DISAGREE. It’s STUPID to tell him, Jerry, that if Sonny gets a sniff that Ian shot Michael, Jerry will eliminate him before Jerry’s name can be dragged into this mess. BUT BY THEN IT WILL BE TOO LATE. Get rid of him now, Jerry. 05. You know, Jason, Nikolas just got done telling you that he paid Ian for an EXPERIMENTAL drug that isn’t out of the TESTING PHASE yet. It’s not like he paid Ian $10 million to feed a heroin addiction. It’s not like the drug has to be extracted from the eyeballs of infants for Christ sake. And clearly it has some benefit because the amount of money it takes to actually go through the lengthy testing process is substantial, and no pharmaceutical company would do it unless the drug showed real promise. And the only “harm” the drug is doing is allowing Nikolas to put off the surgery. NOTICE HOW NIK NO LONGER HAS HIS VIOLENT SPELLS (which NO ONE has pointed out), so you can’t even say that prolonging his “current state” puts others in danger. The only person in danger is Nikolas, and he’s completely aware of what he’s doing. SO KISS OFF JASON. 06. And while we’re on the subject, Jason, get that look off your face. There’s absolutely nothing illegal with charging Nikolas $10 million since he can clearly afford it, and was practically throwing the money at Devlin just for the chance to see Emily. 07. Johnny, I hate to break this to you, but telling Ric that no matter what he does Anthony will stay locked up, is bullshit. Here’s what you need to do, Johnny. Oh sure, you can spin your wheels on lawyers and stuff to keep your father locked up, but if he’s such a sadistic fuck, who deserves to be put away, then kill him and be done with it. Since you don’t seem to be inclined to do that, then I suggest you turn your attention to something more important, and ask yourself the following: Why would Ric Lansing be interested in doing anything for your father? Isn’t this the same man who STABBED and almost killed him at the black and white ball? What possible reason could Ric have for helping the person who tried to kill him? When you figure THAT out, Johnny, then maybe you can work something out with Ric. But you should be able to figure out that right now Ric has some agenda, and men with agendas are very hard to dislodge. 08. Jax, you just don’t get it, do you? No mother is going to give up on her son, and only a VERY STUPID MAN would keep trying to convince her that there’s no hope Michael is going to wake up. Haven’t you learned that already? No one’s saying you have to agree with her that Michael is getting better (thus looking like an idiot in front of the doctors, who will tolerate such refusal to see reality from a woman but not a man); just stop saying he isn’t. How many times do you need to have your head get bitten off by Carly in order to get the obvious? 09. And going to Jason to ask for his help? You want Jason to tell her to give up? Only an idiot, or someone with a death wish, would say that to Carly. I know you’re coming from a place of love, Jax, but tell me …why is it so important to you that you make Carly “see” the truth about Michael. Do we honestly even know what the truth really is? And if Michael isn’t ever going to wake up again, why is it so important for you to have Carly acknowledge that before its time? Would it kill you to “pretend” for a while? Jax tells Jason, “Carly needs to understand the reality of Michael’s situation.” WHY? 10. If I were Ric … Anthony, don’t play me. Ya, I know the roses in your gardens are more beautiful, and I know you want to get home to your loving children and be that loving wonderful family again. Feed it to somebody else. I know you’re not a patient man. Don’t even think about threatening me, or you’ll find yourself back in that prison hospital so fast your head will spin. You’ve been rotting there for over 5 months, and if it weren’t for me you’d be rotting there for the rest of your life. And as far as your children and that happy little family are concerned, you better rethink that. You might want to be out so you can get your revenge on your family, but don’t waste your time trying to convince me that you love them, or that you didn’t know what you were doing before, and now you’re “cured”. 11. You gotta love Max and Diane. And who in the hell does Sonny think he is? Do you realize that EVERY single time Sonny has gone after a woman, there have been people telling him it’s wrong and he should end the relationship? Has he EVER listened? Just think of what went on with Emily. And yet he thinks he has the right to tell Diane and Max to end their relationship? Bite me. And he says such stupid stuff, like, “It’s not a good idea for an attorney to sleep with her client.” I would have said, “You can’t be talking about me, because Max is NOT my client. I guess you must be talking about you and Alexis.” 12. DOCTOR DEVLIN LIVES THERE? In that low class dump? I guess that doesn’t bother me as much as the place is a mess, and I don’t believe the good doctor would live like that. I don’t think he could stand the furniture, either. How long has he been living there, anyway? 13. SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT. Kate comes marching into Kate home, accuses her and her brother of shooting Michael, and then threatens Claudia IN HER OWN HOME … and Sonny just happens to show up and tells CLAUDIA to back off? Excuse me? I loved Claudia’s response to Kate’s threat: “Come and get me skinny bitch; I can’t wait to kick your ass.” Claudia makes it clear Sonny has no business coming into her house and making threats, and neither does his girlfriend, and Claudia is right. 14. “Carly, Patrick’s not being negative, he’s being realistic.” SINCE WHEN DOES ONE AUTOMATICALLY NEGATE THE OTHER? Patrick is being realistic, and his “realistic” prognosis is indeed negative in nature. 15. “Maxie, entertain me. MAKE ME FORGET THE COLOR OF YOUR HAIR?” This gets the nomination for one of the dumbest lines ever uttered in the history of soapdom. 16. So one minute poor old Anthony is so sorry for the things he did that he wasn’t really responsible for, like murdering his own wife because she stood in front of the person he really wanted to kill, which was his own son. So one minute he sounds like that really sorry guy, and the next minute either Johnny dances to daddy’s tune, or he kills Claudia. So much for Mr. Nice guy. TUESDAY 17. Jesus Christ. So now we have Anthony threatening to kill Claudia if Johnny doesn’t do what Anthony wants; and now we’ve got Sonny threatening Johnny if Claudia doesn’t do what Sonny wants. Come on already. Claudia calls Sonny a whack job. I wonder how many people could say that and live to tell the tale? 18. And while we’re on the subject, I thought Johnny talking to Anthony violated a court order? My first instinct was for Ric to get the Director and stick his face up against Johnny’s and say, “See this man? This man is NEVER to have access to my client, if you want to keep you license.” Of course after I thought about it, Johnny 19. I LOVE DIANE and ALEXIS. 20. DO YOU BELIEVE JAX STILL HASN’T GOTTEN IT? 21. GOOD FOR YOU,
MAXIE. 22. The little speech Sonny gives to Michael is absolutely fantastic; the best in weeks. It also serves as a good first step in setting up the audience if Michael really does die. 23. You know what gets me? Here is a big-time mob boss with a huge territory, who works out of an office that apparently no one guards, and that’s as crowded as a bus stop. That’s nonsense. I understand there’s no place else to go, but they could have built him a anteroom to his office or something. 24. See, Sonny, this is where the problem is. Sonny asks Alexis if she can stop Ric from getting Anthony released. Diane is also in the room. Sonny says if Anthony goes free, things will get even uglier. The trouble is, things NEVER seem to get uglier for any of the attorneys, which is why the attorneys keep thinking of it as a game. Now I’m talking about Alexis and Diane, since things clearly got ugly there for Ric, and he’s now on a mission. But you can bet if Kristina was in that hospital room, or someone Diane really cared about had been killed by one of Anthony or Trevor’s thugs, the wheels of justice would be speeding off the track. 25. So Johnny and Claudia GO TO SEE DEVLIN AT HIS APARTMENT – THE SAME APARTMENT THAT JASON LEFT JUST A WHILE AGO? What if Jason was having Johnny or Claudia followed? Wouldn’t you if you thought they had something to do with Michael’s shooting? 26. When are you going to kill this guy and get it over with? How could you live every day knowing Devlin was out there, just waiting to blab given the right circumstances?

WEDNESDAY 27. Telling Logan to speak only when he’s spoken to is an interesting ploy, Claudia. It’s unlikely to get you anywhere. On the other hand, while I love the honesty, people have a tendency to think that they’re the only ones who can say anything about the family. Which means Anthony can Claudia every name in the book, and threaten to have her killed, but don’t YOU say anything bad about her, or you’ll pay. 28. It is an interesting twist to claim that Ric was actually hired by Claudia and Johnny to get daddy out of the hospital and able to deal with Trevor. I don’t think Anthony believes it for a second, but asking Ric why he should believe him instead of Claudia is just meant to make everyone anxious and controllable. 29. Nikolas, it’s been my experience that people keep talking long after they should shut up. And why? When that happens, it’s almost always because people want to be talked out of what they’re planning, no matter how much they protest to the contrary. If Nikolas wanted to be with Emily until he died, and didn’t want to be saved, he would have taken off for parts unknown, and taken his pills with him, and there would have been no one to stop him. But he’s got Alexis badgering him, Robin and Patrick, and of course there’s Nadine. So why is Nikolas spending so much time with her, so much time trying to get her to understand what’s going on with him and Emily, so much time trying to explain why he would rather die than live without her. Somewhere in the pit of his stomach, there’s still the person who wants to live, with or without Emily. And that bit of person probably realizes that the longer Emily is dead, and the longer the periods are between “Emily sightings”, the more likely that little piece of person will take over. But it’s much more likely to happen if Nik is surrounded by people and places he cares about, than in some cabin in the woods, where becoming one with the universe is a helluva lot easier. 30. LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT. Robin is a single woman, pregnant, and she lives in an apartment that has no way to see who is at the door? THURSDAY 31. This whole thing with killing people is just plain stupid. If you’re rich and powerful and you want someone dead, you just kill them. You set up a situation and you kill them. You don’t THREATEN to kill them 87 times before you do it. Maybe if you’re nice, they get ONE warning, and then that’s it. Jason asks Claudia who’s trying to kill her. It could be any number of people. She says it’s daddy. If daddy’s such a terror, then you should have killed him at Wyndemere when he jumped or fell or whatever. The cops would have loved it; it would have given them the suspect they needed, even though it wasn’t the right one. My point is, Ric being threatened and Sonny’s being threatened, and Claudia’s being threatened and Johnny’s being threatened, and this just goes on and on. But threats mean nothing unless they’re acted on. So either kill who you need to, or shut up about it and move on. 32. Alexis, don’t
be stupid. Sonny has downsized his security team? WHY? She asks him if
this is wise. OF COURSE IT ISN’T WISE – unless you’ve got
something else on your agenda. Wake up Alexis. 34. Hey, Lulu, it may seem to you that Crimson is just some fly-by-night new magazine because you’re in on the ground floor, and everything looks like it’s a mess. But there’s no place in Kate’s fashion world for words such as “dude”. I don’t care whether “bonkers” is a real word; it doesn’t have a place in the kind of fashion Kate is involved with. Stop with those “you pompous bitch” looks. Frankly, what you’re still doing there is beyond me. I’m sure you could get rid of Lulu and Carly wouldn’t know the difference. I doubt seriously whether even Carly at this point thinks Jax is fooling around behind her back. 35. Not a bad line, Jason: “Why don’t you make a run for it. If he shoots you, maybe he’ll quit while he’s ahead.” 36. Not a bad line, Anthony: “You know, in my day, people who lied to me got their tongues yanked out. But I’m older now, so I realize that was too good for them.” AND YOU’RE GOING TO LET THIS GUY OUT? 37. Not a bad line, Claudia. “My gun is in the car. How careless of me to not accessorize after leaving the scene of my near death.” 38. HEY NIK, WHO IN THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? You BEGGED Ian for the drug he gave you. You’ve got millions, so spending $10 million on the drug meant nothing to you. AND DID IAN KEEP HIS PROMISE? YES! The drug did exactly what he said it would. It cost exactly what he said it would. So now suddenly (probably because you’ve got Nadine around) you get religion, and you start treated Ian like shit? Nikolas says, “All you’ve done is prey on my desperation.” WHAT??? He gave you exactly what you asked for. After all, it’s not like there’s a drug dealer (for this drug, anyway) on every street corner. And he never held a gun to your head. AND NOW SUDDENLY, now that you’ve got religion, IAN IS AN INSULT TO HIS PROFESSION? You weren’t saying that when you wanted the drug. GOD YOU PISS ME OFF. 39. And then there’s Nadine, who decides to tell Ian that he’s no better than the dope dealer on the corner. EXCUSE ME? See, this is what happens. Too bad we can’t turn back time and change things, so Nikolas could see what happens. When Ian first told Nikolas he had an EXPERIMENTAL drug that would allow Nikolas to see Emily, Nikolas was overjoyed. If Ian had told him then, “I’m not going to give you this drug, because eventually you’ll decide that you don’t want it, and then you’ll blame me for supposedly preying on your desperation”, Nikolas would have had a fit, and PROMISED IAN that that would never happen. Now look. But the other thing with Nadine is, don’t kid yourself. As far as Nadine is concerned, The only thing keeping her from Nikolas is that pesky image of Emily. Get rid of Emily, and Nadine has a clear shot. And don’t bother telling me that’s not part of what’s going on. Never fall for that angelic look when it comes to glomming onto a man. 40. You always know when Sonny wants something from Ric when he calls Ric his brother, versus Ric. Like when Sonny walks into Anthony’s room: he says he’s not there to see Anthony, he’s there to see “my brother”. That’s a sure clue that Sonny wants something, and he plans to use their familial relationship to get it. And he sure does. Sonny tells Ric this is his opportunity to be a decent human being. WHAT? FRIDAY 41. Ric’s right, Sonny. Even when you’re asking him for a favor – A HUGE FAVOR – you have to do it in an insulting manner, Anthony can’t be trusted, but neither can you. And as soon as Ric does what you want, you’ll dump him like a hot potato, treat him like crap, and move on. 42. I must admit, however, that having a marker on Sonny for a favor owed, AND HIS UNDYING GRATITUDE, is also very tempting. 43. Anna is terrific as Robin’s mother. 44. Poor Spinelli. It’s clear he’s never unzipped a woman’s dress, or probably gotten that close (except for the fact that he danced with Lulu) with any woman. And of course Maxie doesn’t have a clue what’s going on. 45. Ric does have a point. Anthony tells Ric he can be very generous. This coming from a man who ran Ric through with a sword. As opposed to Sonny, of course, who’s treated Ric like shit and rejected him at every turn. And now, according to Sonny, Anthony is playing him. Unlike you, Sonny, who wouldn’t think of such a thing. See, Sonny, the problem is that as long as you have the power, then everyone else can be treated like crap and has to put up with it. But when push comes to shove, you’re as bad as Anthony when it comes to manipulating people. “Don’t come to me for anything,” shouts Sonny as he leaves without getting his way. Big deal; since when did Ric ever go to Sonny needing something, and ever get it? 46. WOULD YOU HAVE HAD THIS CONVERSATION IN FRONT OF ANTHONY? 47. You might not like Ian, but no doubt it will be his heartfelt speech to Patrick that brings Patrick around. 48. Johnny says to Lulu, “What would you have me do, kill my own father?” YES! If someone called you right now, Johnny, and said that your father had died, your very first reaction would be RELIEF. Not sadness, not remorse, not a vision of things that could have been. You want Anthony dead, so stop being a wimp and get it done. Anthony has already made it clear that he has every intention of getting rid of Claudia, and you’re sure he’ll do the same to Lulu, SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? 49. It must be nice to have your kid bump her head, and you just pick her up and take her to the hospital, where Nurse Elizabeth just calls the doctor and he sees her right away. Tell me where that happens again, so I can move there. 50. WHO THE HELL ARE YOU SONNY? He and Johnny and talking about Claudia, and Sonny says, “WHATEVER I do to her she DESERVES IT?” You can be a real pig. 51. Claudia, it’s obvious you’re lying about what you know about Michael’s shooting. Now I don’t know if you were going to let Jason know it was Ian, or if you were just jerking him around. You can’t possibly think he would believe that Anthony ordered the hit on Sonny unless you had proof. And clearly, that’s the last thing you have. So expect Jason to think you set him up until you come up with information that makes sense. 52. Is Alexis actually telling Ric to “throw the case”? You know, I remember when Alexis was defending that lunatic Manny (whom I adored). There were all kinds of people who told her he was crazy, and if he got out he would just go back to killing again. I even remember certain people suggesting that she “throw the case”. I thought she was going to have a seizure at the thought. And now here she is, all annoyed because Ric won’t do the same thing she was asked to do, and REFUSED. 53. Good for you, Johnny. It’s about time somebody took some action instead of just standing around. And who the hell are you, Sonny, to complain to Johnny about bringing a gun into YOUR house, when you’ve brought a gun into Johnny’s house, and that’s perfectly okay?
