Individual Points I Want to Talk About

MONDAY 01. Spinelli, where do you get stuff like if Devlin was the shooter, then he HAD to be working alone, and he MUST have stolen the money from Kate’s account. He could have been working with someone else, and doesn’t want that person to know he’s skipping town. And as far as stealing the money from Kate’s account, just how does one go about doing that. Jason is right: assumptions like those can’t be made. 02. And as far as what Jason wants to know from Devlin, there’s no sense in asking him why he shot Michael. The answer is clear: he shot Michael because he missed Sonny, and the bullet ricocheted. That’s not the question you want to be asking. The real question is, did he just decide to shoot Sonny on his own, because he had some free time and nothing better to do, or did he decide to shoot Sonny because someone hired him to? 03. Claudia coming on to Logan? Now that would be an interesting pair. 04. Carly, just how many doctors are you going to go through looking for one who will “make Michael better”? Can you actually imagine spending day after day, week after week, month after month, probably year after year, looking for THE doctor who will cure Michael? Carly, if Michael is going to wake up, it won’t be because of any particular doctor. What WILL be important, though, is that he’s being taken care of somewhere top notch so that when he does wake up, he’ll be healthy. That’s what you should be concentrating on. 05. I love Ric’s idea for Trevor: show your loyalty and gratitude to Anthony by signing over the piers. Too bad Johnny has to stick his two cents in and side with Trevor. 06. Carly’s all pissed off with Jax and his search for a proper facility for Michael. “When’s the last time anyone woke up from there?” she wants to know. Carly, when’s the last time anyone in a permanent coma woke up because of your care?. And don’t tell me that until now it’s not been your job to wake people out of permanent comas, because it’s not this place’s job either. 07. “ADDITIONAL PAYMENT WILL SECURE SONNY’S SAFETY FOR THE TIME BEING” according to Devlin. Kate, are you crazy? Why are you giving this guy the time of day. Do you actually think that this is the ONLY time Sonny’s ever been shot at and survived? And if you “lure” Devlin back, tell Sonny, and then have Sonny kill him, so what? Do you actually think Devlin would be the FIRST and ONLY person Sonny ever killed or had killed? And he’s still here, isn’t he? Boy, you sure have little fait in Sonny and Jason. Between the two of them, Devlin wouldn’t stand a chance. How come you can’t see that? I understand that you want to avoid violence, but if this is the way you want to do it, forget it. 08. SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT. Spinelli admits that he loves Maxie, yet he leaves her in a strange place at night, KNOWING that Devlin isn’t very far away. I don’t care who it is, Jason. You are an ASS for leaving any woman stranded in a strange place. What would you do if you found out that someone threw Carly out of their car in the middle of nowhere, with a potential killer loose, and then just drove off and told her that the bus would be by in a few HOURS? And who says that bus sign is even correct? Where I live, the bus going north still has pickup signs everywhere, but the bus hasn’t been there in years. 09. Oh, goodie. Carly and Jax would be allowed to decorate Michael’s room with age appropriate stuff. I guess that means no naked women on the walls. How exciting for Carly. Now that really ought to change her mind, don’t you think? 10. This whole thing with Carly is going nowhere fast. She’s decided that everyone has given up on Michael but her. NOTHING that you say is going to make any difference. So here’s what you and Sonny need to do. Tell Carly to go ahead and take care of Michael. Tell her she’s got an unlimited budget, and she should do whatever she wants as far as Michael’s care is concerned. If that means she wants to take care of him at home, then fine. Since she won’t have time for Morgan, Morgan becomes the custody of Sonny. And since she won’t have time for Jax, he’ll provide her with money and he’ll keep in touch, but he’s not living there anymore, and if that’s not good enough for her, then the divorce papers will be in the mail within the week. The truth is that there’s no way in hell Carly will be able to take care of Morgan, and pay any attention to Jax, much less run her hotel. If Jax doesn’t take the hotel, she’ll run it into the ground. If Sonny doesn’t take Morgan, the trauma of seeing his mother go downhill with Michael, and never getting any attention from her, will result in Morgan in therapy. 11. You gotta love Anthony. “I would never betray you, son”, he says. I’d try to kill you, but I’d never betray you. Instead of stopping there, you just know that Anthony has got to bring up Claudia. 12. What was this harangue by Claudia to Kate all about? Kate, why are you talking to this person at all about something that’s clearly none of her business? Claudia questions why Kate thinks she has the right to go to the hospital. I’m waiting for Kate to ask Claudia what she thinks gives her the right to come into my place of business and give me shit about seeing Michael. And what’s this crap about, “Don’t let me catch you around Michael Corinthos again.” What the hell do you have to say about it? 13. Boy, Jason, this is your day to piss me off. You have the nerve to tell Spinelli that the fact that Maxie found the clue that led you to Devlin doesn’t really mean anything because Spinelli would have found out eventually where Devlin was. EVENTUALLY? I thought the point was to get this guy as fast as possible. What if it took Spinelli 24 extra hours to find the same information Maxie provided. Devlin could have been anywhere in 24 extra hours.
TUESDAY 14. So Carly is bringing Michael home, without ever discussing it with Jax. Let’s suppose that the situation were reversed. Let’s suppose Jerry had a brain injury and he was in a permanent coma, and his loving brother Jax refused to give up hope, and one day Carly comes home from the hotel and there’s Jerry set up in the guest room with all the necessary hospital stuff he’ll need, and Jax saying this is his brother and he’s going to spend every waking moment taking care of him until he wakes up. Just how do you think Carly would handle this? See, Jax, you’re finally beginning to see how actually low on the food chain you really are. 15. So, Spinelli, you get an email from the woman you supposedly love that you dumped at a bus stop, and you don’t even bother to read it because the big bad Jason doesn’t want you to? You know, Spinelli, if you kept your mouth shut, then Jason wouldn’t even know you’d gotten an email from Maxie. And again, her information would be critical to catching Devlin. 16. God, I love Claudia. She’s at the Haunted Star with Sonny and Luke. “We all have one thing in common,” she says, “We have a common enemy; my father. So which one of you wants to step up and kill him?” 17. I AM REALLY PISSED ABOUT THE PREVIEWS ON MONDAY FOR TODAY’S EPISODE. In the preview, Sonny says to Claudia, “You shot my son!” And she says, “You brought it on yourself.” But in the real episode, Sonny NEVER says that to Claudia, and her sentence certainly doesn’t follow. It originally sounds like Sonny found out that Claudia hired Devlin, but the real episode doesn’t indicate that at all. 18. My my, it’s a
night for Luke to have company. Anna comes over. Then Patrick and Robin
and Tracy. Then Sonny. Then Claudia. Then Patrick again. 20. Diane, I don’t know what you’re wearing, but it’s hideous. I really hate to say this, but that dress makes you look like you gained about 20 pounds. 21. Alexis doesn’t know that the Dodgers are a baseball team? Get serious. 22. I know it’s picky, but Mac, I guess you’re not on the show enough to know that Michael isn’t dead, so asking why Devlin would kill a little boy is inappropriate 23. I don’t know about you, but I’d sure like to know where all this hoopla with Jason and Mac and Spinelli etc., is taking place. I realize that Devlin said he was on his way back to Port Charles, but that doesn’t mean anything. I never understood why he was coming back in the first place, since any money he wanted can be easily wired to him, and he can make any excuse about coming back to deal with Sonny. But that’s not the point. How convenient that Devlin was practically sitting at the MetroCourt considering in no time at all The PCPD is there. 24. Incidentally, you didn’t really expect Devlin to give up Claudia, did you? 25. Carly has told Jax and Sonny that they can both go to hell, that she and Michael don’t need them. Okay, Carly, have it your way. But don’t expect Jax to stand idly by and watch you scar Morgan forever, work yourself into exhaustion, and ruin your marriage. And don’t expect Sonny to allow you to treat him like crap for the rest of his life, when you know you’re as much to blame as he is. WEDNESDAY 26. Wouldn’t you just love it if once in a while the writers gave us “outtakes”? Well, not exactly outtakes; maybe what I really mean is changes in the script. For example, there’s Nikolas sitting on the park bench telling Emily he’s having the surgery today and it’s the last time he’ll ever see her. Instead of the typical Emily drivel, wouldn’t it be great if she said, “Damn straight it’s the last time. I am SOOO sick and tired of showing up here and playing this ghost. I’ve got a career to focus on, and instead I’m spending all this time, almost 6 months now, farting around in this dumb role.” Nikolas should have said, “You were so beautiful even then. The only problem was that you looked so much like Amber Tamblyn.” 27. Is Jake already a year old? You’re kidding.

WEDNESDAY (continued) 28. See, this is why I say the most valuable thing in the world isn’t money, it’s information. Here Jerry and Claudia are going crazy wondering if Devlin gave them up. They know if Devlin did give them up, that Jason will be paying them a visit as soon as he gets out of jail. Jerry makes it clear that no matter where they go or what they do, if Jason wants to get them he will. So now Claudia, who evidently learns nothing from her mistakes, is going to consider yet ANOTHER hit man to go after Jason this time. What do you think Claudia would pay to know that Devlin died without naming anyone? You know if Jason thinks Claudia was involved, he’ll act like Devlin did tell him something, and see how she squirms, or if she gives up information thinking she’s been tagged. 29. You know Mac, I’m so impressed. First, you blame Spinelli for what happened to Maxie. EXCUSE ME? Then you threaten him. YOU THREATEN A KID. One of your two daughters was murdered while on your watch. The other daughter was attacked and almost murdered; also while on your watch. And you have the nerve to play big shot bully to a kid? You have to be joking. 30. Well, it’s started already. Carly has informed Jax that she will no longer be able to work at the hotel; he’ll have to find someone else. I wonder who that someone else might be? 32. Well, I’d say Jerry is in a bit of a pickle. This is what happens when your attorney becomes District Attorney, although ethically speaking, I would assume that anything you were to tell Alexis as your attorney would HAVE to remain confidential from Alexis the District Attorney, wouldn’t it? Yet because of her work with his accounts, she’s able to see that he and Devlin “did business” in the same locations. She wants to know if they were in business together, etc., etc. BUT I would think that if she got that information, or even an inkling of impropriety, from the information she had access to WHEN SHE WAS JERRY’S ATTORNEY, then she can’t use it. 33. I’m also interested in why Jason didn’t just tell Alexis that Devlin said nothing to him before he died. He tried to, but croaked before he could get it out. Frankly, it’s unlikely that Alexis would believe him, but that’s the way it goes. The only thing she’d be happy with is if Devlin has given Jason a name. Now wouldn’t it be interesting if Jason just made something up? THURSDAY 34. Hey, Nadine, why do you THINK Nikolas has a diamond ring in his hand? 35. Excuse me Jason, but actually Claudia doesn’t owe you any proof of anything. You keep forgetting the law unless it’s convenient for you. Claudia doesn’t have to prove she’s innocent, not does she have to find a suspect and drag him into the PCPD. And just because she said her daddy hired the shooter, doesn’t mean she has proof. Jason, you act as though only two people could have possibly put the hit out for Sonny, and if it’s not one person then it’s got to be the other. What if neither Anthony nor Claudia put out the hit? What do you intend to do? Is this like Kate, both of you get the job done or I’ll fire both of you? Find proof you DIDN’T do it, Claudia, or I’ll just assume you did and blow your head off with no proof? 36. Alexis, did you notice that Jerry never answered any of your questions? I wouldn’t be surprised if you did notice, and that’s why you’ll never trust him. Jerry, I guess it really doesn’t matter to you, this trust thing, because it’s painfully obvious when you don’t answer questions, or become evasive. Alexis wants to love you, but you make it impossible because you can never be trusted. Alexis could never go to sleep in the same bed with you, because there’d be no guarantee she’d wake up in the morning. 37. Also, notice how with Carly Michael is ALWAYS HER CHILD? “You’re not taking away my kid, Sonny,” she says. Michael is always hers, and she makes that very clear. 38. There are times when I feel sorry for Tracy. She’s got a husband who only wants the kind of relationship with her that will allow him to do whatever the hell he pleases with whomever he pleases. I actually think he is sincere when he says he loves her. He certainly loves her money. Whether or not you think Luke “cheats” on Tracy is merely based on how you define the word. Has he slept with another woman lately? Hell, no. And that’s what he means by faithful. But he never does any of the things that Tracy thinks of as showing his love for her. It’s easy to say he loves her, but how does he show it? By sticking around? Oh, spare me. And the bottom line is, no matter how much you try to forget, there’s always the spectre of St. Laura coming between them. Tracy is sure Luke’s just biding time until Laura miraculously recovers. There’s no doubt in her mind that the day she stops being a rutabaga, Luke will leap to her side, and forget Tracy’s name. And there’s more. Luke would NEVER have played around on Laura the way he plays around on Tracy, and I can understand how that must make her feel. 39. YOU KNOW WHAT? CARLY SHOULD BE TALKING TO LUKE ABOUT ALL OF THIS. He’s made the most sense, and he could very well get through to her. 40. Kate made a great deal of sense regarding trying to take Michael away. If the fight could take years to resolve, what’s the point? If the situation with Morgan became critical, well maybe things could be made to move a little more quickly, but from what we’ve seen on this show, Sonny would get faster results demanding custody of Morgan. 41. So naturally, because of her conversation with Jason, Carly has decided to send Michael to Manhattan. So naturally, because of his conversation with Kate, Sonny has decided to let Carly keep Michael at the house if that’s what she wants. FRIDAY 42. Claudia is right, Johnny. If Devlin had given Claudia up to Jason, she’d be dead already. Anyway, it’s far better to go under that assumption than being all stressed out that he knows, and then deciding Jason has to go the way of the dodo. Talk about being in a real mess. And besides, assuming Devlin did give up Claudia to Jason, what in the world makes you think that Jason would keep that information to himself? 43. Here we go again. Jason was waiting for Claudia IN HER BEDROOM? Please explain to me how one of the most powerful mafia bosses on the planet can’t seem to get decent security. If the mafia boss’ daughter isn’t safe in her own bedroom, what the hell is going on? 44. It is interesting, isn’t it Sonny, that the person who shot Michael had absolutely nothing to do with the mob. He wasn’t one of your long-time enemies, he was, in the grand scheme of things, just a person trying to push his product through your territory. You never know where the bullet is going to come from, now do you? 45. Epiphany, Stanford got into some heavy shit, and it cost him his life (allegedly). He stopped working for Sonny long before he got into whatever he got into, so while you have a point blaming Stanford and Sonny’s lifestyle for his demise, don’t blame Sonny. In fact, you’re lucky Sonny doesn’t tell you that if Stanford had remained in his employ, it’s unlikely that he would be dead. Of course if I were Epiphany, must response would be, “Maybe you’re right, Sonny. Maybe he wouldn’t be dead. Maybe he’d be a rutabaga just like Michael.” 46. AND WHILE WE’RE ON THE SUBJECT, what ever happened to the promised Spinelli and Jason made to Epiphany to find out what really happened to Stanford? Finding the person who shot Michael wasn’t a 24/7 job. And where’s Cassius, pushing Spinelli along? 47. The scene between Sonny and Michael was magnificent. Magnificently acted, magnificently written. 48. Walking the property once a day isn’t going to stop anything. 49. NO SEE WHAT’S HAPPENED? Remember how I talked about this STUPID idea people were getting that Sonny could have saved Michael instead of Kate? THAT WAS RIDICULOUS, but no one every dissipated that crap. Then the nonsense grew and grew, and now Jason admits when he looks at Sonny all he sees is a person who saved Kate rather than Michael? HE COULDN’T HAVE GOTTEN TO MICHAEL IN TIME. And actually Kate was the one who needed protection, since the shooter was after Sonny and she was standing almost right in the line of fire. THE FACT THAT MICHAEL WAS SO FAR AWAY SHOULD HAVE SAVED HIM. No one could have anticipated a ricocheted bullet. THIS WHOLE THING IS STUPID, and I can’t believe level-headed Jason is stupid enough to go along with it. They write Jason to be so smart he already has figured out why Kate gave Devlin a million bucks; but he’s so stupid he can’t figure out that there was no way Sonny could have gotten to Michael. 50. Excuse me, but it’s one thing for Max and Diane to fool around, but fooling around in Sonny’s house isn’t exactly appropriate. 51. Claudia, don’t let Jerry Jacks dictate anything to you. He’s a low life that no one would believe. And he’s an idiot if he thinks he can control you. What do you think would happen if he told Jason that you hired Devlin? What happens then when Jason confronts you, and you tell him Mr. Craig was the person who hired Devlin. After all, Alexis has all kinds of money transactions, and other stuff regarding Devlin and Jerry, and it wouldn’t take her long to put two and two together, with Claudia’s help. If I were Claudia, I would go to Jason and tell him that Jerry came to you and demanded that you get him into the Zacchara organization, and provide him with contacts for his illegitimate businesses. And when you refused, he said that if you didn’t play ball, he would go to Jason and tell him that you were the person who hired Devlin, even though he knew it wasn’t true. You figured the only way he knew it wasn’t true is if he either hired Devlin, or had something to do with the whole thing. COME ON, CLAUDIA; show us how smart you really can be. 52. Oops. Sonny walks in just as Jason is demanding to know what Kate gave Devlin a million bucks.
