| CONGRATULATIONS TO GENERAL HOSPITAL FOR ITS AWARD AS BEST SOAP. I GIVE THIS AWARD TO THE ACTORS, BECAUSE THEY HAVE AN UNBELIEVABLE ABILITY TO TAKE HORRIBLE WRITING AND MAKE INTO SOMETHING PALATABLE. MY HAT IS ALSO OFF TO THE GENTLEMAN WHO DOES THE CASTING: THIS MAN IS TRULY BRILLIANT. HE BRINGS WONDERFUL ACTORS TO THE SHOW, AND THEN THE WRITERS WASTE THEIR TALENTS. WHAT A SHAME. | ||

MONDAY 01. It really WAS nice to see Carly actually laughing. I sat here, trying to remember when the last time was I saw her laugh. I was also trying to remember the last time I saw her in an episode where she didn't cry. I often wonder what that must do to a person, to come to work every day for weeks and weeks and do nothing but cry. I certainly wouldn't do anything like that if I were pregnant, or even trying to get pregnant. 02. Can you think of ANYONE else on this planet that could say to Jason (and live to tell about it), "Hey sunshine, I need to give you a sponge bath, and it would probably work a whole lot better if you got naked." (Okay, maybe Carly and Elizabeth could say it, but they never have.) 03. You gotta love Maxie. Who cares that she isn't subtle. I find it refreshing. Maxie may be doing what she's doing for allegedly nefarious and covert reasons, but her actions are right out there. Nothing like Johnny and a little SPF15 I always say. 04. And while we're on the subject, don't think for one minute that Johnny isn't having the time of his life. Maxie certainly isn't hard to look at, and at least she isn't nagging him all the time about his father, or ditching the mob if he really wanted to, or how his sister is a bitch and needs to be shipped back to Italy. 05. And while we're on that subject, Lulu, what would you do if Johnny demanded that you go live in Italy for a couple of years, and then come back and see how things went? (Sounds like The Godfather, doesn't it?) 06. Great, Alexis, nothing like standing there while Jerry tells the entire police department that you had sex all night. Makes me think you're really liking the fact that he's spreading your sexual prowess all over the place. 07. And Jax, for god's sake stop being an ass. TOOK ADVANTAGE of Alexis? Are you joking? I don't know which one of them should be more insulted: Jerry, for thinking that you think he had to take advantage of some woman in order to get her to sleep with him; or Alexis, for thinking that you think she's so stupid and/or desperate that she can be taken advantage of that easily. 08. On the other hand, would you want someone as District Attorney of your city who was not only voluntarily sleeping with a criminal, but who announces this fact to every member of the PCPD? 09. Don't look now, but when someone tells you they're going to change, you know you're in trouble. When they tell you they're going to try to be the best person they can be FOR YOU, the relationship is doomed before it ever has the chance to run it's course. When Sonny decides he can't be that person, the first thing that will happen is he'll look for a scapegoat. He'll decide that he did all these things, made all these changes FOR HER. Therefore, she's really the one to blame for his failure to keep his promises. And that will be that. 10. I LOVE IT THAT DIANE IS NOW REFERRING TO JERRY AS "YOUR PSYCHOPATH". I hope it catches on. 11. Anthony, if you really think for one minute that Claudia is going to kill Jason for you, her loving and caring father, on just your word that it's her ticket back into the business, you're crazy. What's she going to do after she kills Jason and Spinelli (need I go into why), and you have that to hold over her head - and then you tell her she's too hot to be part of the family and ships her off anyway. And let's not even bother discussing how many people know Claudia is in that penthouse. But since daddy doesn't care if Claudia fries for Jason's murder, what does he care how obvious it is who killed him? 12. Patrick, trust me; we're ALL SICK of you and Robin having the same arguments. That's why I fast forward through most of what you say each week. 13. Dizzy and nauseous, that's all Carly had to say, and old Jax perked right up. She's acting like she doesn't have a clue that she could be pregnant. It looks like it's the last thing on her mind, but the only thing on his. 14. Jake still steals every scene he's in. 15. Kate wants a PRE-NUP? Are you joking? Now, if I were her, I wouldn't want to live in Sonny's house either. Boy, didn't like that at all. He SAID (and keeps saying) that he wants to change his life. a few minutes before he was telling Kate how he wanted to change for her, and blah blah blah. But it seems like he considers every change someone wants as a personal affront to his nonexistent power base or something. He acts as though if he doesn't make all the decisions, and Kate doesn't kowtow to them, then he's lost his edge of something. I can hardly wait for Kate to tell him exactly what kind of a wedding she expects. I don't think elopement, or something small, is in the picture. Hang on; it's going to be a bumpy ride.
TUESDAY 16. Sonny, I know you're going to use it against Kate, but she just made a stellar case for a pre-nup and keeping assets separate. I don't know that I would have made it sound like it's only a matter of time before they come gunning for you, but she's absolutely right in that you have no business forcing her to combine her assets with those of a criminal. In fact, you ought to consult an attorney to find out how to transfer more money to Kate without it looking like she's laundering money for you. You should be the one concerned about her money. 17. Carly, why are you trying so hard to deny the fact that you could be pregnant? Refusing to take a home pregnancy test? What do you expect Jax to think? Oh, I'm sure you think you'll think of something. And GOD HELP JAX IF HE ACCUSED YOU OF NOT WANTING TO TAKE A PREGNANCY TEST BECAUSE YOU THOUGHT JAX MIGHT NOT BE THE FATHER. Even if it were true, you'd probably pack a bag and go to the MetroCourt until he got on his knees and begged your forgiveness. And when the boy is born, and it looks just like Sonny, good luck with the explanation. 18. So here's Spinelli, out of his mind delirious, saying all kinds of stuff, and there's Claudia listening to every word. You can imagine that Jason must be terrified that Spinelli is going to spill the beans about Jake. He's also annoyed; not only because Claudia is there, but that she and Spinelli have some special rapport, and she can understand virtually everything he says, including Spinelli's comments about Jason and Sonny. 19. Nice bathtub scene. 20. Robin, it doesn't make a damn bit of difference to me that Patrick suspected he was being set up, and took the steps to find out if it was true. You're just looking, once again, for something to distance him from you. Regardless of what he knew, Patrick did change the kid and play with the kid, performed all kinds of fatherly tasks, and did okay. He didn't fold, or refuse to do stuff because he knew you'd set him up, so don't be so quick to dismiss his efforts. Frankly, while he's been a jerk some of the time, what he puts up with from you has to mean he loves you. 21. So, Robin, you and Patrick listen to what Elizabeth has to say, and the first thing you have to do is make it a competition between who Elizabeth sided with? 22. Why is it always too much to ask to have Jax walk in his own front door and hear Carly telling Morgan (a supposedly asleep Morgan) that she might be pregnant but it could be Sonny's kid? Wouldn't you have loved it if Morgan had looked at Carly and said, "What is pregnant, mommy, and why is daddy involved?"
WEDNESDAY 23. "I am the father," says Patrick to Robin, "and I get to decide how involved I am." EXCUSE ME? Gee, I wish as the mother I could say the same thing. I'll take the morning sickness, and you, Patrick, can have the epesiotomy. NO, Patrick, you DON'T get to decide that this week you'll see the kid every day, but next week you'll be in Aruba soaking up the sun. "Deciding how involved I am" is like saying, "I get to decide how pregnant I want to be." 24. Maxie, Lulu, I cannot believe how you reacted when you found out Kate was engaged to Sonny. And she wasn't too happy with it either. My god, ladies, jump up and down; at least congratulate Kate, or something. And frankly, if I were in Sonny's house, the last thing I would do is bring up any of his ex-wives. 25. Great line from Claudia responding to Jason about why she likes Spinelli: "Maybe because he's the only guy I've met that's not trying to sleep with me or kill me." 26. Sonny, forget the pathetic explanation of jinxes and everything else. You tell Kate she can have whatever kind of wedding she wants. And then you immediately turn around and start taking two steps back. You want to have the justice of the peace over to your house with maybe Diane and Max and Jason (maybe). She wants a wedding for 200 at her house. Good luck. MY SUGGESTION? Get yourself shot up, get the doctors to say you're in bad shape, and then back Kate into a corner so she has no choice but to get married with just you and a couple of other people. Then you can make a miraculous recovery and attribute it to her love for you, which brought you back from the brink of death. Otherwise, you're screwed buddy.

WEDNESDAY (continued) 27. Carly tells Jax that she feels so alone. He tells her that whenever she feels that way, she should call him, and he will remind her of all the good things in their lives that they are thankful for. That's great, Jax, but here's the problem: right now Carly would give up every one of those things, including you, to get Michael back. In fact, I can't think of a single thing Carly wouldn't do if it mean Michael would come back to her. So if all the things Carly is supposedly thankful for are things she'd give away to get Michael back, then using the thankful argument won't help. 28. Alexis tells Logan and Baldwin that they both have the same story, like they rehearsed it. Excuse me? They're SUPPOSED to have the same story, aren't they? If they didn't have the same story, you would be releasing Johnny, saying that the so-called witness and victim were presenting two different interpretation of events. 29. Korn dogs with caviar? Only rich people even consider korn dogs with caviar. And as long as we're on the subject, please explain to me how you can take frozen korn dogs out of the freezer, cook them (microwave them, I don't care what you call it), open up a tin of caviar, put the caviar on the hot dogs, and bring them into the living room, all while Jax is talking for about a whole minute to Kate. 30. Well, Carly was sure happy to know that Sonny was getting married so soon after Michael was hurt. Well, Sonny was sure happy to know Carly might be pregnant.
THURSDAY 31. Wait a minute. Just a few days ago Nikolas was looking at a space that looked like World War II hit it, and now they're ready to open. I guess the construction people cook frozen korn dogs in their spare time. 32. Nadine, please wipe the drool from your mouth when you talk to Nik. 33. Anthony, your son supposedly hit someone; he didn't kill anybody. You're going to get Johnny out of jail "no matter what it takes"? All it takes is bail money, and leaning on the right people. Get serious. 34. Alexis, are you mad at yourself because you're too stupid to carry on an affair with Jerry OUTSIDE of the workplace, or are you mad because people have the audacity to think they can come in to your office and find you working instead of screwing, or are you really getting some kind of perverse kick out of the fact that a psychopath wants you? And Scott Baldwin is right: your private life was not open to discussion as long as you kept it out of the workplace. 35. Carly, IT'S TOO SOON for you to have a baby? You should have thought about that before you screwed Sonny in the limo on the way home from ensconcing Michael. Just wait until Jax finds out that all this whining and moaning, and how grief stricken you are, ALL OF THAT CAN TAKE A BACK SEAT WHEN IT COMES TO SCREWING SONNY. 36. And while we're on the subject, if you're going to use the "it's common knowledge that Morgan is Sonny's child" line in order to support your own agenda, then why did you bother to force Sonny to sign away his parental rights in the first place? 37. Scott, get serious. Deny bail? The only way Johnny could be accused of attempted murder by hitting Logan is if Johnny was a professional fighter. Since he isn't, denying bail to Johnny because two guys got in a scuffle that ended up in a fistfight hardly qualifies as a capital offense. 38. You know Mayor Floyd, if Nikolas' little clinic wasn't a threat, then why in the world are you (and your medical allies) doing everything short of burning it down to keep people from going there? How stupid. You can get people to do a lot of dumb stuff in the name of - whatever - but you're NEVER going to get a mother to stand by and watch her child suffer or die because the mother wouldn't go to a free clinic just down the street. You're fighting a losing battle, Mayor, and Nikolas should take you apart for it. If I were Nikolas I'd lambast you in every newspaper, magazine, and television station in Port Charles. I'd have you so caught up in defending yourself that you wouldn't have time to do anything else. By the time I was done with you, you couldn't win an election for supervisor of street cleaning and poop removal. 39. Diane, where Carly is concerned, don't ever cancel the scotch; tell Coleman to make it a double. You don't want to have a clear head for what's to come, trust me. 40. You're soooo subtle, Anthony. The Day Camp thing and the pond is a nice touch, I must admit. But why go through this whole threat thing when a simple conversation with witnesses or others would have revealed that Johnny wasn't at fault. The only reason he spent the night in lockup was because he refused to tell his side of the story without his lawyer. So why threaten Alexis until you have to? Some people will say Alexis is beginning to be a pain in the ass, and perhaps scaring her now will solve any future problems. That's unlikely. 41. You know Carly, TALKING TO DIANE BEFORE YOU LEAP OFF THE PRECIPICE IS THE SMARTEST THING I'VE SEEN YOU DO ALL YEAR. 42. But Carly, whatever gave you the idea that just because Sonny signed over his parental rights to Morgan and Michael, that the law would force him to also give up rights to his new baby. 43. Do you notice that when Jax and Kate get together for a meeting, Jax NEVER seems to be able to concentrate? I cannot remember one time where they came together for a business meeting and actually discussed business. 44. Of course Sonny's going to demand a paternity test. Ordinarily, I'd say to be careful about trying to fake the results. Jax tried it with Spencer, and Elizabeth tried it with Jason. But with the way the writers write, Carly might just decide to say the baby is Sonny's just so she could stand up in the middle of Kate's wedding, and embarrass her in front of 200 of the most important people in the fashion industry. Or maybe Carly would just settle for telling Kate before the big event. My point is that if Carly finds out that the baby belongs to Sonny, and she doesn't know how to get into the hospital computers and change the results (in other words, Spinelli isn't around to help her), she might as well take the ride for all it's worth. Jax would have packed his bags and left, so what does she have to lose? After all, if she's found not to be lying, then how can anyone doubt Sonny's involvement?
FRIDAY 45. Interesting how there seem to be people just lining up to make Lulu see how close she is to the loony bin. You know, I would just love it if Lulu DID end up in the loony bin, even for just a little while. Maybe that would take that stupid smirk off her face. 46. "It's going to be all right; mother's here." ????????? Damn Anna for walking in. That was just about the best argument I've heard in a long time. And so what if we can be heard down the hall? That's why I pay the big bucks to stay in this place, mommy. 47. You know, Nikolas, you're NEVER so handsome and desirable as when you push your weight around. And who is our new doctor? 48. JASON IS THE FATHER OF CARLY'S KID? WE'RE NOT GOING THROUGH THIS AGAIN, ARE WE? If Jason let's Carly get away with this again, I'll puke. Sonny, you're not going to believe this, are you? Not even someone who's as nuts as you 49. Spinelli, SHUT UP. 50. Anna, HOW DARE YOU come zooming into town and take over? Who in the hell are you? You haven't a clue what's been going on between your daughter and Patrick. In fact, you'd be proud of her; she's extending your feelings toward her father and slowly but surely, she's learning to hate all men because you're pounding into her head how her father was a jerk. And Patrick, get some balls. This bitch is actually threatening you with bodily harm if you don't leave the apartment? And she actually has the unmitigated gall to claim that you aren't even trying to take care of Robin, when that's all you've BEEN trying to do for weeks. Just tell them both to go to hell. The reason Anna pisses me off is because out of one side of her mouth she's always on Patrick's case because he supposedly doesn't want to be a father. But the truth is, Anna doesn't want Patrick to be around; she's like nothing better than if he'd disappear and she and Robin could raise the kid together - which means Robin raises the kid alone, and Anna drops in between airlifts and microchips to say howdy. 51. There are moments when you have to love Jerry. When you're such a dangerous psychopath, there are times when a dangerous psychopath is exactly what's needed. 52. There's nothing like one man telling another if his wife is pregnant then he better get a paternity test. It's especially interesting because the last thing Jax would think is that sonny is talking about Carly and Jason. |
